State Bank of Travancore advertised the recruitment in 2016 for
positions of Peons in various states. Registration which was started
from 14-09-2016, finally ended on 3 October, 2016. And as per the
official schedule, SBT Peon Written Exam tool place on 24 November 2016.
The basic purpose of conducting the exam was to shortlist the
applicants as large number of candidates were up for Recruitment of
Peons in State Bank of Travancore.
Applications were submitted at native districts/centres only. Selection for these positions will be done district wise on the basis of merit list among the aspirants of the same district. However no expenses were given by the administration to appear for written test at allotted Centre. Total 1030 State wise vacancies were available under this SBT Peon recruitment.
Many categories got reservation in age criteria. From Bank’s website, aspirants were able to download the admit card by entering his/her registration number and password or date of birth, from 11 November 2016. No hard copy of the hall ticket was sent by post. The written test of SBT Peon was having Objective type questions in following subjects :

Due to large number of aspirants, it’s taking much time for the authorities to check the answer sheets. Currently the bank has more than 1000 branches in India and is planning to have more than 1200 within this year. Almost 990 ATM Machine are also there under State Bank of Travancore .

State Bank of Travancore
has already mentioned in the notification that there is negative
marking presence in this exam and candidate have be qualify in each
section of objective tests. The passing marks in each of the objective
tests will be decided by the SBT on basis of the
performance of all the competing aspirants taken together in every test
to a minimum required level which is usually called cut off.
Candidates
are also required to score a minimum %age of marks on aggregate to be
considered for interview. Depending upon the number of vacancies only
certain number of candidates from amongst those who qualify by getting
high marks in the merit will be called for the personal interview in the
ratio of maximum 3 candidates for each post. Relaxation to
SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates will be provided thereon up to 5% in cut off
marks.
Minimum passing or qualifying
marks will be considered by the bank upon checking of the papers. Final
selection will be made on the basis of performance in the written test
and interview taken together. Merely satisfying the eligibility norms
does not entitle a candidate to be eligible for the final interview.
However SBT will decide the final cut off and merit list.
